Part of a global movement with local solutions, Global Entrepreneurship Week aims to improve entrepreneurial culture in Australia, building foundations for a strong and flourishing ecosystem that will foster innovation, entrepreneurial spirit and economic resilience.
Our theme this year is "Get Something Started". The week aims to inspire, connect, mentor and engage the next generation of entrepreneurs and champions traditional entrepreneurship while highlighting important areas such as ICT, social and sustainable sectors, women and indigenous.
Engaging leaders in the space as well as grassroots representation, the week seeks broad-spectrum engagement that supports entrepreneurs getting started, creates opportunities for partnerships, connections and collaboration and shines a spotlight on entrepreneurial stories Australia can recognise and model the way forwards with, in hopes of finding better outcomes and solutions together.
More than being a great week of activity, it endeavours to extend beyond the week and create a vision for the nation to build on in 2010.
A number of outcomes and outputs are specifically sought from the week, a few being:
- Policy recommendations to government
- Visions for 2010
- An Entrepreneurs Toolbox
- The Australian Entrepreneur’s Thoughtbook
- A community voice on the Entrepreneur’s experience
- Get Something Started Aspirations in 2010
- Establishing Country-to-Country Entrepreneurship Dialogues
